The Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce (MMAC) encompasses the fourth floor of an office building in Downtown Milwaukee. The space was completely renovated to provide a new lobby, two upgraded conference rooms and redesigned office space.
The redesigned lobby is the hub of the MMAC directly off of the elevator with a glass walled conference room at one end to maximize openness. The maple flooring was salvaged from two demolished buildings, one of which, Bradley Tech (formerly Boy’s Tech), was originally founded by the MMAC
The overall design creates unobstructed views to allow natural light to penetrate in to all open office spaces, most interior spaces, the conference rooms and the lobby. This was accomplished by focusing most spaces to embrace the exterior windows, use of borrowed lights, and reconfigured/raised ceilings. The spatial experience provides for excellent way finding and views to the outdoors.
Completed in 2010.
