Frederic A. Ogg Hall – University of Wisconsin – Madison

University of Wisconsin – Madison

This 600 + bed freshman dormitory was completed in the fall of 2007. Design considerations included providing spaces that compel social interaction, while providing for privacy that students desire.

Each of the five residential floors houses 123 students. Four double rooms are clustered together and share a same-gender bathroom . Individual controls for heat and air conditioning in each room not only provide for comfort but for energy savings.

General green spaces including a rain garden are part of this new residence hall environment.

Student residents are telling us the building is “OGGsome”

The project is a joint effort of Uihlein/Wilson and Booth Hansen Architects.
