The Carthage College Nursing Learning Laboratories are an interactive learning environment supporting the clinical education of Carthage College nursing students. Included are two main labs: the Skills Lab and Simulation Lab. The Skills Lab provides introductory training in four bays with hospital beds, medical services, power, data and curtains arranged around a central training center with supportive technology and flexible furniture. Once ready with this basic training, students move on to the Simulation Lab. There they have access to two simulation rooms, each including two high fidelity patient simulator mannequins, operational head walls and an interactive patient monitoring/instruction management system. All systems are connected to a central control room where simulations are managed. The lab facilities are also served by a new Welcome Center and a Debriefing Room capable of monitoring real time simulations or playback for assessment.
